Laikipia University College was established as a Campus of Egerton University in following the recommendations of a Government Committee appointed to look into modalities of absorbing a double intake of students from Secondary Schools.

cIt was meant to offer Education courses for graduate teacher-training. Since then, the Campus has grown in student numbers and staff and now offers additional academic programmes.

In view of this growth, the increased demand for university education and in response to the community, the Vice Chancellor appointed Senate committee on upgrading Laikipia Campus College to a University College status.

Entry Requirements:

KCSE mean grade C- or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution


Diploma Courses

An aggregate KCSE grade of C (PLAIN) and grades C- (MINUS) in Mathematics and English or Division II in KCE with credit passes in Mathematics and English or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.


Degree Courses:

They include Bachelor of Eduaction, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Bachelor of Science (Economics and Statistics), Bachelor Arts (Economics and Sociology, Bachelor of Arts (History and Economics)


Entry Requirements:

An aggregate KCSE grade of C (PLAIN) and grades C- (MINUS) in Mathematics and English or Division II in KCE with credit passes in Mathematics and English or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.


Masters Courses:

They include: Master of Education, Master of Business Administration (MBA),M.A (English and Linguistics).


Entry Requirements:

Bachelors Degree Second Class Honours (Upper Division) and above Bachelors Degree Second Class Honours (Lower Division) with at least two (2) years work experience Bachelors Degree of at least a Pass
