Kichanga Lodge and Hotel in Zanzibar

We live in Uganda now and have been to a lot of Zanzibar spots. We loved Kichanga Lodge, accommodation, and beach. The food was buffet but small scale so the quality was great. Fish was grilled right as you asked for it.

We also went to the ROCK for lunch which was great food and atmosphere but overpriced since we could have gotten great food at the lodge also.

The lodge is a hour and 20 minutes from stonetown so do your spice tour or forest tour on the way to or way from the lodge.

We stayed in a banda that had a giant king bed and two twins upstairs for the kids. The breeze was great and we felt we did not need air-conditioning. We stayed three nights.

Food (fruits, vegetables, grilled fish and meat) was slightly "up and down", sometimes delicious and sometimes a little bit overgrilled (but that might of course be a question of personal taste).

As the owners are Italian, could there possibly be just a shade more influence from their cuisine ?
