INFORMATION TO PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS


Accomodation and Health Services


There are 4 main halls of residence which include 3 ladies’ Hostels and 1 large Hostel which accommodates over 350 male students.

Other male students are accommodated in the 8 blocks.

By the end of the year 2010, it is projected that an ultra-modern Hostel complex with a capacity of 800 bed spaces will be completed.

A dynamic team of committed Hostel staff are always at hand to professionally and politely serve the customers (students).

The department provides 24 hours per day customer care services throughout all academic sessions.

There are two customers care desks within the two offices in both ladies hostels and men’s hostels.

The College also has a heath unit where students are provided with medical services.However, the College is in every way possible to improving on the services and aspects of the Unit so as to provide wider and better services to the University Community.

ICT services

Students are advised to invest on portablle computers(Laptops) as there exists a wireless network which can be accessed near our ICT premises.Plans are also underway to provide this wireless connectivity to ahter convinient areas.

Students Union

The Students Union is a link between the students and the University College Administration. It is headed by a Chairperson who is democratically elected by the students in accordance with the existing Students rules and regulation guidelines.

Recreation & sports

There are number of recreation and sports activities at the College. The Department of Sports offers welfare and sports skills services to the students and facilitates students to travel to other campuses for sporting activities.


Guidance & Counselling Services

The Office of the Dean of Students helps students who need assistance on guidance about their daily life problems which might hamper their steady progress in the academic field or prevent them from enjoying their life in general. Such problems embrace the whole range of health problems, socio-economic, marital, sexual, academic, spiritual and other problems.

Kabianga University College in Brief


 Kabianga University College, a Constituent College of Moi University, is located in Kabianga Division in Kericho West District.

The University College is situated in the Kabainga Complex, comprising of the then Kabianga Framers Training Center, Kabianga High School and Primary School and the Kipsigis County Council Tea Farm.

The Kabianga Complex has along history. The Government School Kabianga was started in 1925.

Kabianga Teachers’ Training College existed between 1929 and1963, when the College was moved to the present Kericho Teachers Traininng College.

Kabianga Farmers Training Centre was established in 1959.Its objective was to serve as an Agricultural training facility for farmers from the South Rift and beyond.

Kabianga Farmers Training Centre became the Kabianga Campus of Moi University in may 2007.

In May, 2009, the University Campus was elevated to a University College status.
