Heritage Motel Dar es Salaam

Heritage Motel is a great facility for a stop over. I had a very late flight out of Dar (4am!) and had just flown back from Selous so needed a place to stay till our flight.

The Heritage was great, we had even left them our huge backpacks before our safari to Selous and they were very kind in keeping them stored without any charge.

Plus the room was huge, very clean, air-conditioned and a general oasis, we were dying for a shower and some bed time and the Heritage provided both to the fullest.

We even managed to blow out a fuse in our room, leaving us with no electricity and 5' after we told the reception, the electrician was in our room and fixed the fuse for us.

It's also very safe given that to enter each floor from the elevator, you use your room key to open the corridor door.

The area around didn't look particularly attractive (well we only caught a glimpse of it at night) but like others said, not reason to leave the hotel at night anyways.

There is also an Airport Shuttle but at the time of our stay, the van was being serviced.

Overall, Heritage thanks for a great stay and helpful staff!

Despite all of the above, I found it strangely compelling, and it is clean and tidy, and certainly contained the best showering facilities I encountered throughout my stay in Tanzania which involved staying in four different venues.
