Arcadia Cottages Lake Mburo

We three had a very nice two-night stay at Arcadia cottage on Lake Mburo National Park Uganda.

Appreciated the private setting in the woods with the nightly visit by one or more hippos.

Food was very good, service was great and our overall experience there was very favorable.

The cottage is located inside the Lake Mburo NP and is very close to the lake.

The hotel staff is happy to escort you to walk outside to the lake where you can see some wild animals on foot especially the bush pigs.

The impalas and Ugandan kobs are frequent visitors to the cottage property and you can see them around whilst you are sitting at the hotel restaurant.

The room itself is cosy and clean, although you should expect a limited amount of wild roommates such as small lizards and other bugs.

You are in a NP after all. Hot water for the shower is powered by a generator and takes a while to heat up.

The cottage turns on the generator at 6.30pm and they ask you to wait about 15 minutes before taking a shower.

There is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but you can get those anytime at the hotel restaurant.
